We signed several new partnerships this year that created new opportunities for our members and their students, including valuable internships and work-integrated learning opportunities.
- On August 26, we announced the renewal of our Natural Resources and Clean Tech internship programs, both offered as part of our Career Launcher program and funded by the Government of Canada.
- In August of 2019, we began working towards the development of a new work integrated learning program with Veterans Affairs Canada to increase capacity for frontline positions at field offices while providing opportunities for students studying at our member institutions.
- In September, we launched the Inclusive Pre-Apprenticeship Pathways Program in partnership with the Canadian Apprenticeship Forum. The program is funded by Employment and Social Development Canada as part of the Skilled Trades Awareness and Readiness program
- A new partnership with Mitacs was announced on February 27 to drive Canadian innovation by creating 1000 new research internships for college and institute students.
